Veuve Clicquot Extra Brut Extra Old is blended exclusively from reserve wines. Series 2 is made only from reserve wines from 1990, 1998, 1999, 2006, 2008, 2009, 2010 and 2012. Those reserve wines were aged at least 2 years in vats selected for their unique characteristics of freshness and aromatic complexity. A double ageing process and a very low dosage, Extra Brut Extra Old is Veuve Clicquot mixing the best of history.
Extra Brut Extra Old 2 bestows an exquisite gold color with exceptionally fine bubbles. The initial nose is impressively open with elegant aromas of candied citrus. Upon being released, the wine unveils a beautiful aromatic richness and with almond paste and acacia honey notes. On the palate, the attack is fresh and silky. The aromatic palette reaches records: very ripe fruits, frangipane, licorice… This wine impresses with its amplitude and balance. The effervescence is light with a low pressure, which participates to this refined silky texture. The finale is particularly long and promising.
Serve at a temperature of 46° to 50°F. Extra Brut Extra Old 2 can be enjoyed now and up to 2034.
